Working Hard to get a SME training session

This month we are working extremely hard to look for a SME/SMI company who contributes in HRDF. We have visited several potential clients and have submitted proposals accordingly. Again, time is the essence and we are anxiously waiting for a good news anytime....

Visiting SME/SMI used to be my job many years ago. However, things are very different today as my current role is not a banker. Those who know me still focus the discussion on banking and lendings where they need further advice. It took quite a while for me to promote training to them. Some of them do not emphasize this area but some viewed training as important. All I have to do is "try" . Just try to create awareness and again it takes times to sell the programs. Here again, "patience" is being put into test!

The focus for now is on SME/SMI. It will remains as the key driving factor until we secure the first training contract. While hard work is inevitable, luck plays its role too. Do pray hard for us.

New environment, New Life, New challenges

We have been in business for more than a month....it's a new ball game and we are learning it in a pretty challenging but worthwhile way. ..

Going out in the battle field to scout for customers is one challenge, talking to them and to convinve them is another challenge, follow-up is challenging as they keep telling you we will revert as soon as possible, closing the deal is the most challenging thus far as price is part of the issue and time spent to develop "customised" program is another issue.

Being new kid in the block has more disadvantages than advantages. It slowed down the turnaround time for many activities. People always like to deal with those who have the track record, they want to read your history and gauge your capability from what you have done in the past. They are interested to know your program had brought success to people and it's worth investing for such program. They don't really wants to understand what is the company's needs and what are the programs that will help to upgrade their people to the desired level that will benefit both the organization as well as the staff. The good thing is this makes us to acquire new knowledge and skills. We are learning new stuff everyday. Such challenging situation also improve our "patience" and test our preseverance!

Recently we had a "almost close deal" for 3D2N but not making money. But we have decided to proceed...with the hope for testimonial and to commence our own track record book...

Despite all the disadvantages, we will continue our journey and will grow each day. We believe soon we will reach a greater height and able to improve the processes and flows accordingly.

The new challenges are definitely more exciting than working in the office. We know every move we make, we are a step closer to our goal and the satisfaction we get is much greater than before. New life is no doubt tough, but we are tough enough to continue our mission.

Do wish us good luck.

Lessons Learned In The Quest For Freedom Part 2

For the record, we close 3 sale in Penang. We broke the egg! Close another sale after the KL session a week later. Got an associate trainer to train in Mandarin for JB session and she did an excellent job despite the fact that there's a pain in the @$$ in the group.

Today we realize that someone (from the client side) did something behind our back. Everyone in the team was shock. I was speechless.

James Bond was right. (refer my earlier blog)

We received our first few cheques. I completed the cartoon project for a chef. Billion completed her translation work. Our faces came out in the newspaper Star Metro on 14 Aug. Great!

Billion accidentaly offended a client. Client got angry and ...you know whatlah. She said she can take it. I felt bad for her ...because the truth is...we are really underpaid for this job. What started off as an hour talk for $XXX amount became 2 full days of research work, hours of discussion, and almost a full day training/administration work. And that doesn't even include props and our intellectual property. Furthermore we got to bear with the client's bragging and self praise (similar to our old boss). Lesson learned - be clear of the expectations (spoken and unspoken) and remuneration before commiting to a project! The good news is - we are not under employment. We don't have to go through this pain for long. Clients can choose us, we can choose our clients too. Thats freedom!

However, we must thank this client for giving us a chance. I guess they sincerely wants to help us. If we just overlook the negativity/misunderstanding, this client is soooooo much better than our ex-boss!

Today I met with an interesting character. Good news coming soon....

Not Everyday is a bed of roses....

Everyone wants to be rich... and successful...

But most of them are not willing to pay the price....

This is what happening to youngster now a days. Want to be rich la... want to be famous lar... want to have a great relationship la....

But all still want to be in their comfort zone. Doing things that they can justify enough to go through the day!!!!

This is week, after my BMX challenge... things are quite still. Japanese restaurant didn't get back to us... all our contact in the bank didn't get back to us... well.... what can I say???

Not Everyday is a bed of roses..... :)

And fast as i am typing rite now... i know well, that my state and emotion will be back on track the moment i finish typing this.

My mentor told me: Live the moment!!! Don't live ur past or live in the future.... just make sure that everyday and every moment... you live it to the fullest.... when this is what I have been doing since my LP journey in AsiaWork for the past two months.

My BMX event was a success... in a way... though didn't earn much but the relationship build with ADUN and Dato has become stronger....

I know i must still persist.... my saving is only enough as it is..... I must prevail and get the cash flow in by this month!!!!!!

This weekend we will be going to penang to conduct some public presentation there. If no sales close probably is the last... but i know whatever it is... we will not worry whether can or not but rahter go all out and LIve the Moment!!!!
